When Disaster Strikes, Customers Can Count on a Best in Class Brand

top 500 franchises image SERVPRO ranks #1 in the Cleaning and Restoration category for the 19th consecutive year.

SERVPRO of Ozaukee County is proud to announce that SERVPRO has been recognized again as one of the best overall franchise opportunities by Entrepreneur magazine’s 2022 Franchise 500, the industry’s most comprehensive franchise ranking. Evaluated on categories such as growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power, SERVPRO was named the #8 overall franchise system, and #1 in the cleaning and restoration industry for the 19th consecutive year.

“SERVPRO is built on the foundation of outstanding customer service, industry-leading training and the success of following a proven system,” said SERVPRO CEO Rick Isaacson. “On behalf of the more than 1,900 SERVPRO franchises across the U.S. and Canada, we are honored by this recognition.

“The SERVPRO brand and its franchisees share a strong partnership, working together to set and achieve goals which have allowed us to grow each year for more than half a century despite the challenges many businesses have faced, especially over the past 18-24 months.”

“The past year has been one of the most challenging for businesses in recent memory, which made putting together our 43rd annual Franchise 500 list more enlightening than ever,” said Entrepreneur Editor in Chief Jason Feifer. “The companies named to this year’s list showed us how being resilient, supportive and nimble can help navigate extraordinary challenges and also underscore the grit and innovation that define entrepreneurship.”

SERVPRO franchise owners pride themselves on being “ready for whatever happens,” Isaacson said, which helped the company jump two spots from its #10 ranking in 2021.

“Our franchisees have a ‘never say no’ mentality, working together with other owners to make sure we are able to satisfy all of our customers’ and clients’ cleanup, remediation and restoration needs, which allows us to ‘Keep it Green,’ as we like to say.

“We pride ourselves on rushing in when others are running out – whether that is in response to a natural disaster such as a hurricane, flood or tornado; cleaning up after a home or business water or fire loss; or helping clean and sanitize spaces from unseen threats like COVID-19. Maintaining our position for nearly 20 years as the best franchise in our category on the Entrepreneur Franchise 500 list validates our long-standing strategy for growing our brand: invest in franchisee training and support and commit resources to continually improving our infrastructure.”

SERVPRO of Ozaukee County uses a staff of experienced water damage technicians to work on projects in your community. That means we have unique insights into how you can protect your home from suffering water damage.

Basic home maintenance can make a difference, and many of these projects might be on your list already.

Take stock of your yard. Understanding your yard and how it drains in relation to your home can help you protect your home. If you notice that your yard is draining toward your home, then you might want to get in touch with a landscaping expert to look for ways to protect your yard.

Think about native plants as a landscaping option. Many people choose plants and flowers because they like the aesthetics they create. But choosing landscaping items for protection can ensure your home is ready for heavy rain. Native plants, trees and shrubs can be vital in protecting your home from water damage.

Look into sealing your roof. Experts estimate that almost  95% of damage is caused by water finding its way through gaps in your shingles, which can be prevented with this step. It’s definitely worth considering.

If you need help dealing with damage caused by water, fire or any other issue, SERVPRO of Ozaukee County is here to help you restore your home. We have crews who are available 24/7/365 in the event of an emergency. Why SERVPRO of Ozaukee County?

3/9/2022 (Permalink)

We care about your health and safety.

That's why we use our own hospital grade disinfectant for your sanitation needs!

SERVPROXIDE is an EPA registered, stabilized chlorine dioxide-based disinfectant and sanitizer.

SERVPROXIDE carries the EPA’s lowest toxicity rating, requires no PPE for general purpose use and is safe for everyday use. It is designed to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, and mold on hard surfaces and is an effective sanitizer for soft surfaces. The product is almost fragrance-free with only a mild odor that dissipates quickly under general ventilation.

The product also serves as an excellent deodorizer once the source has been removed. It oxidizes and does not mask odors such as fire & tobacco smoke, musty odors, pet odors and stale cooking odors. It can be used to deodorize internal HVAC systems, and it can also be wet-fogged or misted through a ULV type mister for deodorization purposes. This is one of the best products SERVPRO has.

SERVPRO of Ozaukee County uses SERVPROXIDE for water/sewage damages, COVID-19 Cleanings and any disinfecting situations. Call us at 262-242-8888, if we can be of service or if you have any questions about SERVPROXIDE.

WHY SERVPRO?

7/2/2021 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Ozaukee County can help you move damaged items out of the water. We specialize in drying out basements.  Sometimes, we can find unaffected places in other parts of the basement to dry items, sometimes we need to put them in the garage or move them to a storage facility.  In any event, we want to dry them as fast as possible to avoid getting mold.  After 48 hours, they may need to be discarded in order to avoid mold.  The best advice is to inspect things carefully after the 48-hour period, and decide if they can be saved or if they need to be discarded.

Don’t ever try to save wet cardboard boxes, because even though they may dry out, they are highly susceptible to bacterial growth. However, you can salvage the contents of the boxes and put the contents into plastic containers or new cardboard boxes to be safe.

Most people aren’t able to remove carpeting on their own.  If you need help doing this, call SERVPRO of Ozaukee County 262-242-8888.  We can take out your carpet and pad to ensure that the floor underneath is not ruined.  We can dry the subfloor and make it ready for new flooring.  If you leave the wet carpet and pad on the floor while too long, you stand the chance that mold may develop.

Depending on the relative humidity, (inside and outside) you may be able to open the windows to help with the drying.  Just make sure that the humidity outside is lower than the humidity inside!!!

When the basement is dry, SERVPRO of Ozaukee County will wash and sanitize the floors to remove any dirt.  Any walls that were damaged will be removed to aid in the drying process. When we have met drying goals, we will use an anti-microbial spray to retard mold growth.

As in all disasters, if you have insurance, call your home insurance company and report the flood. Confirm your coverage limits, deductible amount, and claim procedures.

Take the Right Steps to Protect Your Mequon Home From Heavy Rains | SERVPRO® of Ozaukee County

4/12/2021 (Permalink)

Water damage is a common headache for homeowners, and it can come from both expected and unexpected places. If you’re like most homeowners, you probably know that natural disasters (like severe storms) and home accidents (like major appliance malfunctions) can cause water damage.

But did you know heavy rains can do a lot of significant damage, too?

You probably haven’t thought a lot about the ways heavy rains can damage your home. But it does happen. Rain is common during the spring and summer months in particular. If your home is not properly maintained, these rains can cause costly damage.

You can’t avoid all water damage hazards. Flash flooding can’t always be predicted and can cause serious damage to entire neighborhoods and communities.

But sometimes, homeowners can avoid the damage caused by heavy rains if they take the right steps.

Protecting Your Home and Family from Rain Dangers

We use a staff of experienced water damage technicians to work on projects in your community. That means we have unique insights into how you can protect your home from suffering water damage.

Basic home maintenance can make a difference, and many of these projects might be on your list already.

SERVPRO® of Ozaukee County Makes These Home Projects a Priority This Spring

3/26/2021 (Permalink)

Are you ready for winter to be over and spring to arrive? If you’re like most residents of Mequon, Grafton, Cedarburg or Port Washington you are. And you aren’t alone. After another cold, dreary Wisconsin winter, spring is finally in the air.

You probably aren’t the only person you know who’s dealing with spring fever. It’s March now, and that’s a great time to plan what we want to do with warmer days and sunnier afternoons.

Spring is also the time many of us start planning new projects. For you, that might mean deciding how you want to change up your home’s landscaping for the new season. Or you might research parks in the area to (finally) get outside.

Most of us enjoy changing the seasons, but there are always hazards that can come along with it, too. Spring thunderstorms can cause a headache for many homeowners.

The good news is that are many ways you can ensure your home is ready to withstand the weather.

Add These Projects to Your List

Make these home improvement projects a priority one weekend this month:

  1. Remove any hazards that threaten your roof. Limbs and branches hanging over your home can be hazardous. Winds can bring them down and cause damage. You can prevent this from happening by cutting them down.
  2. Clean your gutters. Clean gutters allow water to move around your home the correct way. Don’t let water back up from your home and cause water damage.
  3. Check your roof for leaks and damage. Be sure your roof doesn’t have any missing shingles.
  4. Secure things around your home that you can. Be sure your patio furniture or other similar items don’t become tools for the wind to damage your home.

If a fire, flood or any other disaster cause damage to your home, you can always count on us for restoration assistance. We are available247in the event of an emergency. Contact SERVPRO of Ozaukee County at 262-242-8888 any time to learn more about our restoration services and how we can help you.

When the Temperature Drops in early Winter or late Spring

12/18/2020 (Permalink)

When the temperature drops in late Spring or early Winter, those of us who live in the Midwest with basements need to shut off the water lines to the outside hose spigots.  After shutting off the water, open the spigots to drain the water that may be between the shutoff valve and the spigot.  Water that is trapped between a closed shutoff and a closed valve can expand with freezing temperatures causing the water line to rupture.  After shutting off the valve in the waterline, wait a few minutes and check it again in 15 minutes to verify that there are no leaks.  Globe valves have packings around the valve stem that can become dry and as a consequence lose the ability to seal. Remember, we are available 24/7. Call us at SERVPRO of Ozaukee County at 262-242-8888.
